What’s even more significant is that internet usage on mobile phones in China has increased over 30 percent since the beginning of year. While in India there are almost 120 million mobile connections capable of using wireless data.

In December 2008, the World Bank predicted that the per capita GDP in emerging countries would rise 4.6% annually during 2010–2015, a figure more than double the growth rate of the 1990s and far beyond the 0.6 per cent average seen in the 1980s. It’s a reassuring forecast to make in the midst of the global economic meltdown that has been dominating news stories for the past few months.
